Let's end poverty in Calgary

Post Date: Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Today, Mayor Nenshi joined with hundreds of Calgarians to launch the Enough for All campaign. We must fight poverty in Calgary because the facts are distressing:

  • 127,000 Calgarians live in poverty, or 1 in 10
  • 1 in 5 Calgarians are concerned about not having enough money for food
  • 1 in 3 Calgarians are concerned about not having enough money for housing
  • 48% (nearly half!) of Canadians would struggle with financial obligations if their paycheck was delayed by one week
The good news is we can all do something to help. Whether you donate, volunteer, or host a conversation about poverty in our community, you are making a difference.
